IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE
We hope you and your whānau are well in your “bubbles” in Aotearoa, or anywhere else in the world. Naturally the New Zealand Geothermal Workshop committee have been monitoring New Zealand’s COVID-19 outbreak closely. Like you, we have been looking forward to connecting with the geothermal community in person – and enjoying Te Papa as our conference venue in Wellington.
With only 6 weeks to go until the workshop is due to open there is still considerable uncertainty on when alert levels will decrease. Our conference attracts a large in person audience, so running it in person would require New Zealand to be at alert level 1.
To ensure that we can go ahead safely with an in-person event we have come to the decision that the New Zealand Geothermal Workshop will be rescheduled. We have new dates for the event to run February 1 to 3 at Te Papa, with registration/welcome drinks etc. on Monday January 31. The event team are Auckland based – so we’re aware that January 31 is a public holiday for Aucklanders (Anniversary Day) … but what better way to finish a long weekend than to catch up with geothermal colleagues from around the country!
All accepted papers remain part of the technical program, and over the coming days we’ll reconfirm participation by other speakers (keynotes, panelists etc.)
